Kevin Treiber was born 1992 in Taichung in Taiwan. He grew up in Frankfurt/Main. At the age of 9 years Kevin began to play the piano . 2002 he started to play the violin as his secondary instrument and changed to the viola in the year 2009. With the admission in the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State Hessen the viola became the main instrument. From that time on Kevin participated in many orchestra projects, within the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Kammeroper Frankfurt, Junges Philharmonisches Orchester Niedersachsen, Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, Philharmonisches Orchester Würzburg, International Ensemble Modern Academy, Junge Norddeutsche Philharmonie and the Junge Sinfonie Berlin. Kevin is the principal violist of the Kammerorchester der Bundeswehr and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State Bremen.
Kevin is national awardee of the german youth competition "Jugend Musiziert". As a following advancement of the national competition he played the piece 'The Viola in my life' by Morton Feldman as soloist with conductor Sian Edwards and Participants of the master class of the International Ensemble Modern Academy.
He participated in master classes with Prof. Susanne Stoodt and Prof. Guy Ben-Ziony and in chamber music masterclasses with the Juillard String Quartet and Voces Quartet. Kevin played in the master class with Thomas Riebl and Prof. Samuel Rhodes at the International Viola Congress 2011.
2012 Kevin played together with Alexander Sitkovetsky, Guy Ben-Ziony und István Várdai at a chamber music project of the Kronberg Academy.
Kevin is being teached by Máté Szücs, first principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He studies in the class of Prof. Nimrod Guez at the Hochschule für Musik Würzburg.
